Rev. Maxine A. Gray is a pastor, teacher and Christian counselor. She has been married to her husband, Mr. T. Gray, for over 40 years he is a community activist, Pastor, singer and former choir director. They have two daughters who are both entertainers and singers; the oldest taught children for many years and is a recording artist, the youngest does vocal technique training for both adults and children; she is also a vocalist and stage performer. Gray has three grandsons: Tyrone II, Thaddeus and Theopolis Jr.; beloved Nieces, Nephews & a host of parishioners’ children, who inspire her writings. It is important for her that children learn to love and respect one another and that they know how to show kindheartedness and refrain from selfishness. The ills of society can be changed through their generation.

Books by Pastor Gray are designed to help young minds learn lessons that will go with them for a lifetime. Children’s Lesson on Morality are filled with delightful characters who you will come to know and enjoy.

Our children and youth are being fed a constant diet of rude and unwholesome behavior and manners. They are seeing ghouls, witches and magic constantly. It is important to give them a foundation in God’s truths done in any way that is tasteful and humorous. As stewards of these precious young minds, we must teach them to be morally sound. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go…”

“Valuable Life Lessons for Kid’s Straight from the Heart of the Forest

Friends are the family we choose. We should cherish them in good times and all the more in bad. Like all relationships, we also go through some rough patches with our friends. However, we always try to make it right because we love them. As long as we are honest with them, they will always be a present help.

Such is the story of Ms. Pootie and her friends. In the book, “Children’s Lessons on Morality: Don’t Use Your Friends” by Rev. Maxine A. Gray, children are bound to learn the importance of integrity and keeping it real with your friends. The story of the book will instill valuable life lessons to growing children. It follows the story of Ms. Pootie who tried to trick her friends and ended up regretting it in the end.

Rev. Gray did a great job on how she narrated the book. She was able to perfectly develop and transition the setting, event, plot, and entire story. On top of the colorful and vibrant illustrations, she created an identity for her characters by giving them a unique characteristic. Her writing style is simplistic, and her choice of words are charmingly child-friendly.

She has succeeded in creating a vivid lesson for children with the way she built-up and unfolded the plot of the book. The lesson is surely going to remain in a child’s mind and will help cultivate honesty and integrity, as well as the virtue of forgiveness. In a society wherein children are more exposed to violence, malice, and dishonesty, “Children’s Lessons on Morality: Don’t Use Your Friends,” will be a breath of fresh air for children and parents alike.

Build-up your child’s character. Raise them as to how they should be. Instill valuable morals in them and help them grow up under the virtues God had set for everyone.”
