Dr. Nana Bright Siaw Afriyie is an Information Technology Engineering professional. Dr. Siaw Afriyie completed High School at Opoku Ware School in Kumasi and received a baccalaureate degree (BSc.) in Computer Science and an advanced degree in Telecommunications at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM), Canada. Dr. Bright Siaw Afriyie also holds an MBA from the Graduate School of Management (GSM) at the University of Dallas, Texas. He further acquired a postgraduate degree in Master of Science in Cybersecurity when he was also discerned CNSS certification. Siaw Afriyie now holds a Doctor of Computer Science (DCS) degree with a focus on Cybersecurity and Information Assurance (CIA) at Colorado Technical University (CTU).

Dr. Siaw Afriyie began his professional career in Information systems in the early 1987’s while working as a programmer Statistics analyst for the World Health Organization’s (WHO) project for the Onchocerciasis Control Program in West Africa under the United Nations for seven years. He held four years of Information Systems position teaching computer science, two years as a professor Assistant at the University of Quebec in ‘Montreal, Canada, and two years as an adjunct faculty at Community Colleges in Dallas, Texas (Brookhaven and Mountain View Colleges). Additionally, Dr. Siaw Afriyie relentlessly pursued his career in Information Technology (IT) while working for the Municipal Government of City Dallas as a Senior IT Analyst for fifteen years. He currently holds a full-time position as a Lead Systems Integrations Engineer for the Advanced Technology Group (ATC) at UPS Corporate Plant Engineering.

While progressively advancing in the Information Systems domain, he has leveraged his professional experience and education in Information Technology to author and publish four computer science textbooks, including Introduction to Computer Fundamentals, Concise ICT Fundamentals Volumes One and Two, and Concise ICT teacher’s guide. He has authored Introduction to Object-Oriented Programming Using Java, which is yet to be published. These books seek to cover the learning curricula of senior high schools and college entry-level computer science studies.

The future book not yet published would be “Methods to Control and Minimize Cyber Fraud In Mobile Financial Services.” Besides, Dr. Bright Siaw Afriyie is a traditional ruler, having been Crowned as the chief of Adanse-Atobiase on May 5, 2005. Under the stool name of Nana Taaka II.

Knowing that this world is now moving toward a global village—we are in information era where practically nothing can be done without the power of computers in most industries. A solid knowledge about fundamentals of computing has become indispensable in everyday life.
