Delores Ele lives in Alton, Illinois where she spent most of her life. Living on a large piece of land in the middle of town next to woods sparked her imagination at an early age. She began her craft of storytelling at about eight years. By 12, she decided to turn professional. She has been published on the web, in local newspapers and magazines and in her church newsletter. She has edited the newsletter and was editor-in-chief for a mental health newsletter for a group of agencies in Southern Illinois. Horse Bones: the Adventures of Daisy and Maisy is her first published novel.

The year 1960 was the most significant in eight year old Daisy’s life.

First, a sled accident involving her sister, then she and her sister getting their ducks for Easter only to have them taken away in the worst way imaginable—which Daisy blamed herself. The flare up of a number of ailments didn’t help. The scary discovery of bones in the woods in which Daisy and her older sister Maisy played, meeting Alice Kraig the old woman who was the neighboorhood “Witch,” the troubling dream about a flying saucer which glowed red and Daisy awakening to see a glowing red object outside Maisy’s window that Daisy took to be the moon.  All these interspersed with fun and interesting, sometimes troubling adventures and misadventures with her older sister Maisy, Daisy’s best friend, almost constant companion and guarding. But trouble seemed to form on the horizon due to Daisy’s growing ailments and Alice Kraig’s growing interest in the two girls, particularly Daisy.

Who is Alice Kraig? Is she really a witch? Or is she just a kindly old woman concerned with the well-being of two little girls? Is she a fairy godmother? A guardian spirit? Or is Alice Kraig something else altogether?

And what does she have in mind for eight year old Daisy?

“Author Delores Ele Invites Readers to a Story of Two Sisters in a Rollercoaster Weird Fun Adventure in “Horse Bones: The Adventures of Daisy and Maisy”

The narrative starts with a sled accident that occurred during the winter of 1960 when Daisy’s sister Maisy got involved. Daisy has Asperger’s Syndrome (a form of Autism Spectrum Disorder) which her family ignored. A startling discovery occurred when they found some scary bones in the forest which Daisy and her sister played with it and then encountered with Alice Kraig, who was a resident Witch in that area. An unsettling dream about a UFO occurred, in a bright shimmering red and other mysteries yet to be uncovered.

It is an insane roller coaster ride of a novel that keeps you flipping page after page from start to finish. The mix between the complexities of the story is uniquely done, which begs for a sequel. Critics raved it for its great writing and style. The pacing is decent. It also does not drag in story progression. Science fiction adventure fans will definitely NOT be disappointed!

The characters are compelling and well-created in a surprising, straightforward presentation the readers of the genre will love with a contemporary writing style that the current generation can relate to and appreciate. Character progression in his stories is tight and well-established.”
