Ken Liljenquist currently lives in Pocatello, Idaho. After serving in the military, including a year in Vietnam, he married and had seven children. They moved over fifty times with Ken trying to keep employed while battling severe mood swings. His work included laying carpet, roofing and plastering swimming pools. He is now married to Julie (Larsen) Liljenquist. Julie has three children. Ken and Julie enjoy serving in their church visiting relatives, fishing and golfing. Ken still battles severe mood swings, but loves his life, family and church. He appreciates life every day and is thankful to God for it with all its challenges.
Two small children were playing together. One grabbed the other by the coat sleeve. The first reacted by slapping at the other child. His mother swatted him on the head and said, “Don’t hit. It’s not nice.” Moms must be right, but sometimes they can be very difficult to understand. In an Outcast Life, an eleven-year-old boy becomes very confused by his mother’s counsel to “just ignore being viciously bullied. “He is small for his age, shy, and very much a loner. He suffers bullying for a couple years after begging his parents to intervene. When they won’t, he decides to fight back only to find that standing up for himself makes him the bully in everyone’s eyes. In the end, learning to ignore it may have been the best advice.
