The author Clifton Brusso is a graduate mechanical engineer and a major in the US Army Corps of Engineers.  He is also a direct descendant of Alexandre Dumas the Great writer of the Classics Three Musketeers, the man in the Iron Mask, The Count of Monte Christo and many other novels and plays. He was also the first war correspondent.

This story starts out with an abused woman who leaves her husband and goes back to college and gets a degree in Astro Physics and is hired by an observatory in Texas.  She observes an anomaly in the sky and when she reports other Observatories start tracking it.  They eventually believe that it is headed towards our sun and it will destroy it.  When it does arrive, it causes complete destruction of the Earth with people struggling to survive.  At one point there is a war between whites and Native Americans. Frozen Solid is a fast-moving novel of people worldwide trying to survive without transportation, communication. Loss of loved ones and rivalry and competition to obtain the necessities of life.
