Syb Brodie resides in Huntsville, Ontario, Canada and is the author of her book Gems of Encouragement. Syb is retired from being a Jill-of-all-trades which included – secretarial – home renovation & building – owning and operating a housekeeping resort – writer – editor – poet – but first and foremost a wife, mother and homemaker. Syb has edited and produced a church newsletter with four editions yearly including articles from many in the congregation. She is Prayer Ministry leader at her church, supports Missions and Charities at home and abroad.

Syb currently writes articles monthly for her church and many subscribers. She can be found on her website www.encouragem.com and Syb is in the process of writing another book. She has had articles in Muskoka Seniors Magazine. Her Gems of Encouragement book is sold at Muskoka Bible Centre, Amazon, Xulon Press, Barnes & Noble, and YOP. Her prayer is that God will speak to you through her writings, encouraging and inspiring you to know that, no matter what, Jesus is always by your side.

Derived from a website named “EncouraGem” comes a new devotional book written by Syb Brodie, who shares some of her life stories of renewal and strength that the Lord has used to shape her into the vessel she’s become for Him today.
We are drenched in a blanket of depression. Conviction of our wrongdoing brings along a feeling of hopelessness that we will not be strong enough to carry these burdens one more day. This is absolutely true. We are not strong enough, “But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me Christ Jesus might display His immense patience…” Jesus is the One who has patiently waited for you to hand your burdens over to Him. Listen to that inner voice saying, “Do it.” Believe and lighten your load as I did, through a merciful God who longs for you to get to know Him.
The mission of the website “EncouraGem” and of this book, Gems of Encouragement, Syb says, is to “Encourage, enlighten, inspire, teach, to bring joy and laughter, to be positive and upbeat, to love others just as Jesus loves me.”
