“Vivian Lewter-Loydd’s “In the Sandbox” Reminds Parents of Being Mindful of Their Children’s Playmates

Written by Vivian Lewter-Loydd, in her book “In the Sandbox,” a straight forward and easy-to-read storybook is about a narrative of two young girls, Lorie Ann and Annalyse, where Lorie Ann’s dad made a sandbox where they can play their toys with ease. Then two boys from their neighborhood, Jackson and Kenny, passed by and asked if they can play with the girls. Then from thereon, all of them where comfortable playing together in the sandbox. Then the next day when the four came together to play, the two girls felt uneasy that morning when playing with Jackson and Kenny. Read the book to find out the events unfolded that day.

“In the Sandbox” is more like a heads-up book to make children aware of the one thing they never had to take into consideration. It would be best that this book be read to children by an adult with open discussion. It could also be read by children at least eight years of age and older. This is not necessarily a true story but can very well be a real one. The idea of the storybook that often times we need to pay attention to your kid’s friends who are playing with them.

The storybook features beautiful and colorful illustrations with text that is easy to read that will also encourage young readers to practice their comprehension skills. Also, parents, caretakers or a guardian need to be prepared to answer questions the child might ask in case the context of the story is difficult understand. Over-all, the book provides an eye-opener regarding the safety and protecting your children’s personal space from other kids.”
