The book was originally created by a 13-year-old Tara Giri as her first semester Spanish school project in 7th grade in 2013.

2019 Tara Giri is now a graduate of Cupertino High. She is headed to UC Santa Barbara in the fall to pursue her higher studies in Anthropology. She also works as a part-time food server at a local Asian-fusion eatery. She has many interests including video-gaming, reading, writing, and music. She has completed four years of study in Spanish and is very interested in continuing to stay fluent in Spanish.

La Aventura de Algodon de Azucar – The Adventure of Cotton Candy is an illustrated Children’s book written in Spanish and English. It is about Cotton Candy who is in search of her friend Peppermint. Along the way she meets several colourful, edible characters engaged in various interesting and amusing activities. The illustrations bring the characters to live in vivid colour and the dialogue is hilarious.
