Hilary Booker is the CEO of the Institute for Earth-Based Living, where she teaches classes and offers one-on-one guidance to those seeking to find alignment between their minds, bodies, spirits, their communities, the Earth, and cosmic cycles.

She is an inter-disciplinary artist, scientist, and researcher whose focus is the intersection between post-colonial hybridity and creolization theories, food system sustainability, social and cultural change, holistic health and wellness, and traditional healing systems, with an emphasis on those in/from African and Caribbean Diasporas.

She has a PhD in Environmental Studies from Antioch University New England and an MPhil in International Peace Studies from Trinity College Dublin. She is the author of The Moonflower Room: A Poetic Cookbook from The Bahamas and the poetry compilation Emancipation: I am my own creation. This book is comprised of some of the most ubiquitous and compelling messages I’ve offered people in readings of their astrological natal charts in my holistic wellness coaching practice. It’s for anyone who may be looking for guidance during life transitions or challenging times, those seeking to find their purpose, or just seeking to figure out what’s going on out there in the world–and within themselves. I am an artist, scientist, explorer, and postcolonial political philosopher–and these sensibilities are represented in the pages of this book (as inferred by the title). While this book has emerged from my astrology practice, it’s not about astrology and one neither needs to know or “believe in” astrology to benefit from or understand its messages. Many spiritual traditions and beliefs are woven into and through the messages, as they are through me. More than anything, I hope that when people read this book, they will realize that they matter and that they’re not alone on this journey called life, regardless of the path they choose to take.
