My name is Raymond A. Gillings. I was birth and rear up in Jamaica as a youngster, I grew up in a little district in St Thomas by the name of New Monkland, which is around ninety miles from Kingston Jamaica. I resided there until I was 27 years of age. Opportunity knock at the age of 27, the United State, and the Jamaican government had a contract, whereat the United State recruit men from Jamaica to come to the US to do farm work labor. And I was recruited to work in the USA. There was a first and a second time recruiting for me, that was when I met this virtuous woman, by the name of Fossie, we got married in the year of Oct, 10/13/1980. We resided together as wife and husband, until the Lord called her home in Dec,21,2009 at the age of 63. During these years, I have gotten to know the Lord, through and by His word. Presently I am the assistant Pastor at a little building that goes by the name of St Mary Holyness church. This is home for me. As I gracefully occupy this office, the Lord has shown me many things. I am a minister of reconciliation; this is the message that we bring to falling mankind. We all sin and fall short of the glory of God.
HAVE YOU RECOVERED FROM THE FALL?
THEN CONTINUE TO BE ENLIGHTEN.
In the year 1970, I arrived in the United States from Jamaica as a citizen of Jamaica. As time progressed, I met a fair maiden named Flossie. Her presence blossoms with persuasion and blessings. The kind that spells as recorded in St John 3: I 6—For God so loved the world that He gave His only and begotten Son that whoever believeth in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. Upon meeting her, she was a strong believer in the Lord, and I was vague about what I was raised to believe and demonstrate. As months and years passed by, I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ in my heart and my mind as my savior and Lord. Before long, I found myself witnessing people. I was here, there, and everywhere. It was like this! Wherever he tells me to go, I go. And it is still today. Shortly atter I was ordained to be a minister of reconciliation,1 communed with my Lord, and he with me. In prayer and fasting, the studying of His word, the enlightenment of His presence bursted forth at my forefront in awe and wonder. It was there that he opened my eyes and defined for me the three-letter word—sin. So, between the Lord and I, if I lived to a thousand years old, I could not tell you all there is to be told about sin. The Holy Spirit inspired me to write this book, and instructed me to present it in the most simple way. He opened my eyes and I saw that many of humanity are deeply involved in the very thing that hastened their demise, and they are not aware of it. He has laid upon my heart prat indignation and I must warn my brothers and sisters about this sin.
“Author, Assistant Pastor, and Reconciliation Minister speaks to the Hearts Conflicted by Afflictions in the release of the book – “RAG: Reconciliation”
Isaiah 58:8-10 (CEB)
“My plans aren’t your plans, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my plans better than your plans. Just as the rain and the snow come down from the sky and don’t return there without watering the earth, making it conceive and yield plants and providing seed to the Sower and food to the eater.”
God has a plan for every one of us. He will lead us to places where we need to be. We may come from all walks of life, but it is His plans that shall prevail. Such is the life of Raymond Gillings, a Jamaican immigrant who was called to minister and has embraced his calling, and in his book, RAG: Reconciliation, he speaks to the weary souls of readers.
At 27, he migrated to the United States of America to work in the agriculture industry. However, God has better and bigger plans in his life. It all started when he met the love of his life—his wife, Fossie. In the years of their union, Raymond knew God more and later on became the assistant pastor and reconciliation minister of St. Mary Holiness church.
Through his experiences as a minister, Raymond authored the book using real-life accounts and contemporary issues. He maintains a nurturing tone throughout the book, which helps eliminate any sanctimony. Raymond provides insights into the Word of God and how it can be used in our daily lives, especially when we are dealing with issues of the heart. The topics range from knowing oneself, resolving conflicts, and the ministry of reconciliation. The book is indeed a source of inspiration that may put the readers in a state of contemplation.”
