Barry F. Parker is a Canadian who now lives in Riverside, California, where he is employed as an academic librarian. He has a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies and has written scholarly articles in that discipline. Writing fiction is Parker’s lifelong focus. All of his experiences, education, and passions are part of what he writes. The characters are all very real to him, and the fictional platform allows Parker to portray them with an added dimension.
Jacob and Alyssa Harrison’s work on a dig in Turkey threatens to unveil secrets that officials from the Gregorian church do not want uncovered. While visiting the site, Jacob’s friend, Darren Moore, discovers an uncanny link between Jacob, and Darren’s friend in Canada, Blake Patterson. Blake reflects upon his life as measured against his current love interest, Alanna. An evil element in his past, Jim Beasly, emerges into his present life. Matters come to a head in both worlds simultaneously as Jacob and Alyssa try to track down Blake in downtown Toronto before he clashes with the fully degenerated Jim Beasly.
“A Unique, Ominous Story with Intertwining Realms will Keep Us on the Edge of Our Seats
Being the fourth book of a series, Barry F. Parker successfully preserved the intrigue and suspense of the preceding instalments. “Resolutions,” a two-part book, is a gateway to the alternate realities of a young boy. What had appeared to be a work of his imagination found Blake Patterson traversing the physical and ethereal world. In a chance encounter with an ominous and malevolent beast with a strong spiritual presence and intelligence, the life of the then young Blake would start to get more dangerous and exciting.
Reemerging in Blake’s present life, Jim Beasly, the beast had become more degenerate, losing all the morality it previously had. Fortunately, one of his friends Darren Moore befriended a couple who had recently discovered a controversial secret that Georgian church heads don’t want to uncover. The couple, Jacob and Alyssa Harrison are determined to help Blake before his impending clash with Beasly. But will they find him in time?
In a story of gut-wrenching twists, readers are surely afforded a suspenseful experience. Barry F. Parker did a great job with the way he built the story up. With the events and character development, every page will keep the reader very engaged in the story. Its unique plot is also laudable. The mundane introduction of characters and the events perfectly paint realism, while the sudden incorporation of spiritual warfare comes as a jolting and exciting experience.
The book is certainly a masterpiece for its genre. It will make any reader look forward to each page. It has a complete, balanced, and tasteful mix between fictional events and hinting at some sensitive topics, such as the secrecy of some religions and alternate realism.”
