DINAH VINSON lives in Raleigh, North Carolina. She worked for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction for thirty-six years. She has survived the trials and pains of four different marriages, other significant relationships, multiple serious illness, and rearing her three children (and two step-children) all while struggling to maintain a relationship with God. “Under the Blood is a compilation of vignettes. While my book is highly flavored with Christianity, it is also well seasoned with the secular events of everyday life. These are my dreams, visions and experiences. These are pages of my life. I am not proud about most of these events; therefore, there is no boasting. I am thankful for God’s forgiveness. I thank Him for every page of my life. I bow to Him only.”

Riveting expose! How do you make a child understand that it’s okay to have a dream? How do you help that child understand when the dreams became realities? Diane’s mother ran away from her every time she tried to talk about one of her special dreams. How could Diane see people, and even talk with them, who most other people could not see or hear? The fact that Diane’s husband checked into a hotel with another woman came to her as she slumbered. She, also, knew that her fiancee’s ex-wife was spending the day with him at her home while she was on her job. Diane spent her entire life trying to keep her visions and dreams on the “down low.” The men in her life had already tried to condition her to be unhappy with herself. Why let the rest of the world in on her secrets of dreams and visions, and have them talk about her, and call her weird names, too?

“Dinah E. Vinson Declares the Power of Christ to Transform in Her Fictionalize Memoir “Under the Blood”

Vinson, a secretary for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and a survivor of many hardships and tribulations, narrates her life and walk with God to encourage others to persevere.

She writes: “‘Under the Blood’ is an autobiographical compilation of vignettes. While my book is highly flavored with Christianity, it is also well seasoned with the secular events of everyday life. These are my dreams, visions, and experiences. When I think of some of my experiences, I stand in awe and amazement. I truly believe my book will appeal to persons of all adult ages, races, and backgrounds. I can honestly state that everything I have written about my life, even the embarrassing, violent, and shameful events, is factual. I am not proud of most of these events; therefore, there is no boasting. What I am thankful for is God’s forgiveness. I thank Him for every page of my life. I bow to Him only.”

Vinson struggled to keep a relationship with God despite dealing with the hardships of four marriages, other major relationships, several serious illnesses, and the upbringing of her three children. The book is a page-turner, that will help any reader from any walk of life to think about how important it is to have a dialogue with God. It’s also written in an upbeat tone that avoids seeming sanctimonious or condescending. She had recently become an author of two books with the recent release of her other work, “Seeds We Sow… Little do we Know,” an anthology of short stories that talk about the consequences of the experiences a child goes through growing up, whether positive or negative.

Experience the love of God through the journey of a strong woman.”
