Many, many years ago my parents Howard and Kitty, gave me my first set of crayons and coloring books. At first it was fun, but soon I got bored with staying within the lines. As a result, I began to create my own images to decorate with color. Years later, my art progressed and I graduated from California State University at Long Beach. My degree was in drawing and painting.

 Throughout college I held many types of jobs. Shortly after graduation, fate smiled upon me and I was offered a job working for a beach wear company. My artwork consisted of illustrating palm trees, surfers on waves and many, many tropical flowers. I spent several years in southern California creating this type of art.

 It was time for a change! I packed up my life and moved to the bay area. I eagerly awaited experiencing the diversity of San Francisco. I began by taking up canvas painting.

One night, I was waiting to be seated in a pizza restaurant with a friend, while passing the time a large, ornate piece of furniture caught my eye. It was an antique dresser turned around and masquerading as a hostess stand. I stared and stared and began to fixate on this antique. Where was it from? How old was it? What stories could it tell? It became my obsession.

 I had never thought about writing a children’s story before, but my mind asked me why not? I’m a six foot, 230 pound kid after all who loves Harry Potter. Thus began my journey to “A Wizard Comes To Falling Leaf Falls.” My novel takes place in 1939 in a world where children had no electronic devices and were encouraged to play outside and use their incredible imaginations!
