Winston Churchill once said, “Give us the tools, and we will do the job.”
My name is Lois Hassan. I have enjoyed being a teacher and a college professor for fifty years. Over my years of teaching, I realized that many students do not have the necessary tools to learn. My goal has always been to give my students the tools, so they can do the job and are able to be successful. I started my career as a first grade teacher. As I watched many of my students struggle when learning to read. I realized that I too found reading difficult. “What can I do to make learning to read easier.” One of my goals was to demystify reading and help my students, not struggle with reading, but learn to love it. I wanted to show them how reading could open many worlds to them. So, I went on to further my education by obtaining my Masters in Education that specialized in Reading. Throughout the years, I have taught students from first grade to eighth and finally to College. At the College level, I not only worked with College students, but high school students, corporate training students, and work place students. In College, I taught reading, writing, study skills, and English as a Second Language. Many of my classes were remedial classes. I realized that the problems my first graders faced were the same as many of my college students. In College, it was obvious the problem was not only reading but also writing. So I went back to the university to attain a Masters in English specializing in Writing. Having both these Masters helped me develop lessons to help students of all levels learn and enjoy learning. During these years, I have worked hard to develop lessons that present material in an easy understandable way and share many of the tricks of the trade with them. Another problem I found that many students had was they did not know how to learning. I focused on developing study skills lessons to give them the tools to be successful. With my colleague, we wrote Techniques for Learning, which is a tool to help students achieve their academic goals by providing a variety of study strategies and create a personal study plan that works best for them. Always looking for ways to help people learn, I created Keys to Success – A Simple Planner to Organize Your Life and Be Successful. I wanted to write the “Ultimate Reference Book” that people of all ages could use and would keep handy and refer to often. Organized in a clear concise way, it is my hope that within minutes, a person can quickly refer to the Keys for Success, so he or she can master the skills and feel more organized and confident.

Keys to Success is the “Ultimate Reference Book.” It is designed as a planner that can help you get organized and stay organized to be successful.
